Villa Stockar.

The reconstruction of this modern villa was completed in summer 2013. Situated at the junction of the hilly streets of Zenklova and Nad Rokoskou in Libeň, the villa boasts sweeping panoramic views of Prague, particularly from the top floors. In total, there are 3 loft apartments with a front yard, 5 one-bedroom apartments, 5 two-bedroom apartments and 1 penthouse. The building is conveniently located right next to Okrouhlická tram and bus stops (lines 3, 10, 55, 505), which provide quick connections to Kobylisy and Palmovka metro stations.

Libeň.

Easily accessible by public transport, the rustic neighbourhood of Liben is home to some great bars and cafes. Residents can explore its charming leafy parks and gardens or cool down on a hot summer’s day at Stírka outdoor pool. For entertainment seekers, Pod Palmovkou Theatre and the O2 Arena, one of the largest venues in Prague, are both close by. Elsewhere, Liben’s main hubs of Palmovka and Kobylisy have a lot to offer shopping-wise, including butchers, bakeries and a local farmers’ market. 

The golden age of Libeň came between the two world wars. Many of Prague’s most successful business owners built large villas within easy reach of the city. Today, this former industrial district is one of the up-and-coming neighbourhoods in Prague. Like Karlín, many of Libeň’s disused areas are being turned into mix-use developments and residential-office units. Watch this space!

Interestingly, one of the most heroic acts in the history of the Czech lands occurred just a stone’s throw away from Villa Stockar. In 1942, a group of Czechoslovak partisans (under Operation Anthropoid) carried out the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the notorious “Butcher of Prague”, the then Reichsprotektor of Bohemia and Moravia and a principal architect of the Holocaust.
